Indian Classical Music Offerings

Bright World Arts is a strong supporter of the classical music from India. For 2014, Bright World Arts is featuring the Dhrupad vocalist Nirmalya Dey. Dhrupad is one of the oldest traditions from North India and Nirmalya Dey is one of the foremost exponents of this ancient tradition after spending years under the direction of his guru Ustad Zia Fariduddin Dagar. In 2014, Bright World Arts is helping to sponsor the tour for Nirmalya Dey  for solo concerts and also concerts in duet with bansuri artist John Wubbenhorst always accompanied by the packhawaj (barrel shaped percussion instrument used in Dhrupad). Also available are solo concert of the bansuri (accompanied by tabla) with John Wubbenhorst.
